It&#8217;s the Santa Claus dilemma. What do you tell your kids? I&#8217;m sure I was disappointed but I have never felt betrayed by it.<\/p>\n<p>I would never tell other parents how to raise their kids. It&#8217;s not my place and even though I have a couple of my own who turned out pretty well I can&#8217;t claim to be an expert on the subject. But if you&#8217;re wondering, here&#8217;s what I think about Santa:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"comp-jamykuk8\" class=\"txtNew\" data-packed=\"true\">\n<p class=\"font_7\">Disappointment is part of life. It helps kids grow and to reason with their feelings.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"comp-jamyq77j\" class=\"wp2\" title=\"\" data-exact-height=\"216\" data-content-padding-horizontal=\"0\" data-content-padding-vertical=\"0\">\n<div id=\"comp-jamyq77jlink\" class=\"wp2link\">\n<div id=\"comp-jamyq77jimg\" class=\"wp2img\" data-style=\"\">\n<figure style=\"width: 281px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"comp-jamyq77jimgimage\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/static.wixstatic.com\/media\/cd2718_f7591cf634df4cba898234faca3a1262~mv2.jpg\/v1\/fill\/w_281%2Ch_216%2Cal_c%2Cq_80%2Cusm_0.66_1.00_0.01\/cd2718_f7591cf634df4cba898234faca3a1262~mv2.webp?resize=281%2C216&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"281\" height=\"216\" data-type=\"image\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Santa, providing a lifelong sense of magic for Nathan and Isaiah.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"comp-jamytck6\" class=\"txtNew\" data-packed=\"true\">\n<p class=\"font_7\">What would be really sad for me is if I had grown up with no sense of magic in the world.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"comp-jamywnpe\" class=\"txtNew\" data-packed=\"true\">\n<p class=\"font_7\">I&#8217;m 66 years old and I guarantee\u00a0this Christmas Eve, like all the Christmases of my life, I will go outside or look at the sky through a window and search for that miniature sleigh with eight tiny reindeer. I don&#8217;t expect to see it, but you never know.
