{"id":96,"date":"2008-11-24T07:25:54","date_gmt":"2008-11-24T14:25:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/theagingofaquarius.com\/ag_blog\/?p=96"},"modified":"2008-11-24T07:25:54","modified_gmt":"2008-11-24T14:25:54","slug":"its-never-too-early-for-christmas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theagingofaquarius.com\/ag_blog\/its-never-too-early-for-christmas\/","title":{"rendered":"It&#8217;s Never Too Early For Christmas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">While everyone is talking Thanksgiving turkey, I&#8217;m putting out my favorite Christmas decorations, stacking up Christmas music, lighting holiday incense and soaking in the sights and sounds and smells. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">It&#8217;s not because Thanksgiving comes a week earlier this year.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>We&#8217;ve always played\u00a0Christmas music during Thanksgiving dinner, but\u00a0by now my music and dvd collections have\u00a0expanded so there isn&#8217;t enough time between Thanksgiving and Christmas to hear\/see each of them once.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>So I started earlier this year.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><\/span><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">I love everything about Christmas.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>There&#8217;s no frenzy here.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>I don&#8217;t love shopping, never did, but gathering a few things to give as gifts isn&#8217;t a hardship.\u00a0 I do much of it online, but I also go to malls on purpose during the season, just for the festive look of it.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">Making fudge and apple cake with\u00a0a Christmas glaze for my neighbors is\u00a0nice.\u00a0(Christmas music plays while we cook.)\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">I love church during Advent season.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>The faces of the acolytes who carry the light down to the altar candles always look like Christmas<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>&#8211; a bit shinier than usual and quite reverent.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>As the kids\u00a0walk slowly, jeans poking out below the white robes, they\u00a0resist the temptation to jostle each other and\u00a0I imagine their parents watch and wonder, who <em>is<\/em> this child, so somber?<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>Surely this is not the kid who had to be reminded (threatened) to get here on time. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\">You won&#8217;t find me griping\u00a0about the commercialization of this event, because for me it never has\u00a0become that.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>If all I ever had of Christmas were the sights and sounds and fragrances, and if that could last for months, I wouldn&#8217;t complain.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Symbol;
