Trains contributed so much to our country’s vitality, but unlike some other nations, we almost completely abandoned ours.\u00a0 (Sorry Amtrak.) Now everything about training seems, once again, \u00a0exotic, adventurous – and best\u00a0of all, practical.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In California, we’ve been promised high speed trains many times.\u00a0 Finally, we voted to\u00a0re-build our rail system within this state, one link at a time,\u00a0but now\u00a0the start date of the program, like most big\u00a0statewide improvements, is uncertain.\u00a0<\/p>\n
I’m\u00a0counting the days\/months\/years until I’ll be able to hop on a high speed express from the northern part of the state where I live, to the southern part, where the rest of\u00a0my family members live.<\/p>\n
The “high-speed” part isn’t even the most important.\u00a0I won’t mind spending time in a comfortable seat watching the world go by,\u00a0instead of circling to find a parking spot at the airport.\u00a0I don’t mind if it\u00a0takes a while longer to arrive by train than it takes\u00a0to fly to the same destination.<\/p>\n
