{"id":359,"date":"2009-03-23T07:30:57","date_gmt":"2009-03-23T14:30:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/theagingofaquarius.com\/ag_blog\/?p=359"},"modified":"2009-03-23T07:30:57","modified_gmt":"2009-03-23T14:30:57","slug":"bulking-up-is-fiber-the-superhero-of-nutrition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theagingofaquarius.com\/ag_blog\/bulking-up-is-fiber-the-superhero-of-nutrition\/","title":{"rendered":"Bulking Up &#8211; Is Fiber The Superhero Of Nutrition?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Fiber is the word\u00a0we hear everyday, a\u00a0word that was never once spoken aloud in my family until recently.\u00a0\u00a0Dietary fiber is considered one of the most important ways to\u00a0maintain good health.\u00a0Fiber discussions are everywhere and that leads to fiber guilt.\u00a0Now when friends get together, we&#8217; ll\u00a0often check\u00a0the fiber content of the muffins before choosing one.\u00a0\u00a0 (We don&#8217;t always choose the one with the most fiber, but we feel obligated to\u00a0check.)<\/p>\n<p>The earliest mentions I remember of better living through fiber were worded in euphemisms and had to do with specific bodily functions.\u00a0 It was mostly older people in my family discussing their bodies as a\u00a0form of social interaction.\u00a0\u00a0 We knew that Gramma&#8217;s second husband needed more bulk in his diet.\u00a0 She told us so in great detail.
