I&#8217;m grateful for time spent with people who love what they do, whatever they do, generous souls who share their talent. I&#8217;d like to introduce you to some of of them from time to time.<\/p>\n<p>My friend, Barbara Wetteland, a glorious singer, passed away a few months ago.\u00a0 I miss her awfully. I met her through her husband, Ed, a Bay Area keyboard legend.\u00a0 In the 1980&#8217;s I lived on Green Street in San Francisco, a few blocks up from North Beach and I tripped over to Washington Square Bar &amp; Grill (&#8220;Washbag&#8221; to media folks) so many times a week I ought to be embarrassed about it.\u00a0 Ed played piano there, holding forth from a space that barely contained him.\u00a0 He was a giant of a man with a big booming laugh, a piano-playing genius who could expound on any subject while taking requests, except when he wasn&#8217;t in the mood, and then he played what he pleased and didn&#8217;t chat.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/theagingofaquarius.com\/ag_blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/WASHBAG.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2174 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/theagingofaquarius.com\/ag_blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/WASHBAG.jpg?resize=439%2C294\" alt=\"\" width=\"439\" height=\"294\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/theagingofaquarius.com\/ag_blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/WASHBAG.jpg?w=600&amp;ssl=1 600w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/theagingofaquarius.com\/ag_blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/WASHBAG.jpg?resize=300%2C201&amp;ssl=1 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 439px) 85vw, 439px\" \/><\/a><em><strong>&#8220;Washbag&#8221;<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Ed and Barbara fell in love and began performing together all over the Bay Area.\u00a0 After every gig they drove away from the city lights, returning to their log cabin in Sebastopol.<\/p>\n<p>Barbara was feisty and restless and loved making things, from soup to needlepoint, embroidery to gardening, quilting to songwriting. She created this for me as a table runner, but then she borrowed it back to enter in the Sonoma County Fair.\u00a0 She took home a ribbon and was as proud of that as any song she ever sang.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/theagingofaquarius.com\/ag_blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/BARBARA-RUNNER-2.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2153 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/theagingofaquarius.com\/ag_blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/BARBARA-RUNNER-2.jpg?resize=165%2C459\" alt=\"\" width=\"165\" height=\"459\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/theagingofaquarius.com\/ag_blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/BARBARA-RUNNER-2.jpg?w=165&amp;ssl=1 165w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/theagingofaquarius.com\/ag_blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/BARBARA-RUNNER-2.jpg?resize=108%2C300&amp;ssl=1 108w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 165px) 85vw, 165px\" \/><\/a>Sweet B has now joined Eddie, taking their music to another stage.
